Catriona’s World Designer Dress is a creation of world-renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran who described the gown as follows:
“A custom semi-serpentine sleeveless gown in fine soft tulle fabric. This gown is intricately embellished with Francis Libiran’s custom signature embroidery details with art deco and linear patterns that accentuates the silhouette of the wearer. This old rose gown is fully encrusted with dyed-to-match stones and crystals that provide rich texture and elegant sparkle.”
According to Catriona:
FRANCIS LIBIRAN is an A-list Filipino fashion designer and fashion icon whose works have been featured not in only in the Philippines but also in different parts of the world.
He was featured twice on America’s Next Top Model and Tyra Banks wore his creations several times just like Hollywood stars Gwen Stefani, Angela Bassett, Serayah Mcneill and Miss World 2000 Prinyanka Chopra to name a few.
Francis Libiran is also the man behind the winning gown of the first Filipina Miss World, Megan Young.

From a reliable source, Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray will be wearing a Francis Libiran for her National Costume (left photo) in Miss World 2016. It’s all in blue with layers and dramatic sleeves and a cape-like wrap-around neck-line that will frame our Queen’s beautiful face even more. It’s so Catriona if you ask me as I can already picture her walking the ramp wearing the complete ensemble.
As for the finals gown, I was also told that Catriona is very likely to wear a lilac-colored creation, also by Francis Libiran. There is a video of her walking in a pink one but that could have been used for practice, a pageant function or possibly the Top Model segment instead.
Let’s see which one she will eventually wear on December 18.🙂
