For the third year in a row the National University (NU) Pep Squad was proclaimed top winner at the 2017 Cheerleading Championship (NCC) held at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay City on March 13.
The Taguig City University (TCU) took home first runner-up honors, while the Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad was second runner-up.
In the Group Stunts Competition Taguig City University – Team A (TCU) won top prize and Taguig City University – Team B bagging first runner up and National University (NU) Pep Squad, second runner up.
Other contenders at the 2017 National Cheerleading Championship were Taguig City University (TCU) Varsity Pep Squad, Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad, Naga College Foundation (NCU) Tigers Pep Squad, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Goldstar Pep Squad, Cavite State University (CVSU) Hornets Pep Squad, Quezon City Polytechnic University (QCPU) Ligers Pep Squad, Lyceum of the Philippines (LUP) or Laguna Pep Squad, University of Rizal System Rodriguez (URSR) Giants Pep Squad, University of Caloocan CIty (UCC) Silver Squad, De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde (CSB), Blazers Pep Squad, National University (NU) Bulldogs Pep Squad
The NU Pep Squad went home with P150,000 cash prize, TCU with P100,000 and FEU, P50,000.
