Ms. Ezra Liz Joy Ng, the 17-year old Filipina student in Herzliya, won 3rd place in “The Voice Israel” during the show’s final episode for Season 4 on 18 March 2017. Israeli Sapir Saban bagged the title of “The Voice Israel” while Nitzan Shayer got the 2nd place.
“California Dreamin” was Joy’s first song and her final song was a duet with her mentor/coach Miri Mesika. Joy Ng entered the final round with four Israeli contestants, two of whom were eliminated in the finals.
Prior to entering the finals, Joy Ng had an emotional moment when the show’s management surprised her with a personal appearance of her father, who was flown in from Pangasinan to lend her support. She had not seen her father for many years.
Philippine Ambassador to Israel Neal Imperial, who watched the finals with Joy’s family and friends, congratulated her and hailed her inclusion in the finals as an affirmation of the Filipino’s great talent in the performing arts. “Joy’s outstanding performance in the finals made us all proud to be Filipinos in Israel. Despite being the youngest finalist, she showed grit and tenacity and her voice never wavered.” “She has become a uniting figure for all Filipinos in Israel,” added the ambassador.
