MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) officially proclaimed the Top 12 senators-elect of the 2025 midterm elections during a formal ceremony at The Manila Hotel on May 17, 2025. Leading the pack is Sen. Bong Go with an impressive 27.12 million votes, securing his spot as the top vote-getter and earning a second consecutive term.
Making a surprising return to the Senate is former Sen. Bam Aquino, who claimed the second spot with 20.97 million votes. Running as an independent but aligned with key figures of the Liberal Party, Aquino defied pre-election surveys to solidify his comeback. Kiko Pangilinan joined him in victory, landing at fifth place with 15.34 million votes, reviving their familiar Kiko-Bam tandem.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa came in third with 20.77 million votes, while Rep. Erwin Tulfo (ACT-CIS) took the fourth spot with 17.12 million votes, marking his first term as a senator. Fellow newcomers Rep. Rodante Marcoleta (SAGIP) and Rep. Camille Villar (Las Piñas, Lone District) also secured places in the Top 12, ranking sixth and tenth, respectively.
Completing the lineup are Ping Lacson (7th), Tito Sotto (8th), Pia Cayetano (9th), Lito Lapid (11th), and Imee Marcos (12th). Despite internal political conflicts, Imee Marcos managed to claim the final seat with 13.34 million votes.
The newly elected senators will serve from 2025 to 2031, overseeing critical legislation and potentially influencing the impending impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte in July. Their role is expected to be pivotal in the political landscape as the Marcos Jr. administration enters its final years.
