Santiago City, Isabela — The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has summoned Santiago City Mayor Alyssa Sheena P. Tan and her uncle, Congressman Joseph S. Tan, over separate allegations of vote-buying in connection with their respective 2025 election campaigns.
According to a list released by COMELEC, Mayor Tan was cited for the alleged distribution of money during her campaign activities. Her uncle, Congressman Joseph Tan — who is seeking re-election in Isabela’s 4th District — was also flagged for allegedly handing out cash to voters.
COMELEC emphasized its commitment to upholding fair and credible elections, warning that those found guilty of vote-buying may face serious sanctions, including disqualification from the race.
Both Mayor Tan and Congressman Tan, who are running under the same political banner and are known political allies in the region, have yet to issue official statements as investigations continue.
