Death toll from Egay rises to 30 – NDRRMC

vivafilipinas08072023-82The number of people left dead by typhoon Egay continues to increase in our country.

Based on the latest report released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the number of reported deaths due to the said typhoon has now reached 30.

According to the data, 15 of the reported fatalities were from the Cordillera Administrative Region, while 8 were recorded in the Ilocos Region, 4 in Calabarzon, 2 in Western Visayas, and 1 in the Davao Region.

In addition, the agency also reported that there are 171 individuals who are still injured due to the typhoon, while at the moment there are at least 10 individuals missing and still being searched for.

Meanwhile, at the moment more than 871,000 families or 3.2 million individuals remain affected in 14 regions, while 11,145 families or 40,485 people are currently staying in evacuation centers.
