The Philippine Embassy in Israel confirmed her death in a statement released today.

Leah had been hospitalized at Shamir Medical Center in Rehovot after an Iranian missile struck her apartment on June 15, leaving her critically wounded. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries and spending weeks in the ICU, Leah was unable to recover from her injuries.

Her sister, Joy Mosquera, who also works in Israel, confirmed the heartbreaking news of Leah’s passing. The embassy expressed its deep condolences to the Mosquera family and thanked Joy for her support during this difficult time.

Leah Mosquera would have celebrated her 50th birthday on July 29. She had been working as a caregiver in Israel for several years, supporting her family back home in the Philippines. Her life and sacrifice serve as a symbol of the dedication and courage displayed by many overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) worldwide.

The Philippine Embassy is currently facilitating repatriation efforts and providing assistance to Leah’s family during this challenging time. The embassy also called for the protection of foreign workers and civilians caught in the conflict.
