Gilas Pilipinas dominated Chinese Taipei with a convincing 106-53 victory during the first window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 qualifiers held at the Philsport Arena.
Justin Brownlee showcased an outstanding performance, recording 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Kai Sotto contributed significantly with 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks.
With this triumph, both Gilas Pilipinas and New Zealand are now tied for the top spot in Group B, concluding the first window of the Asia qualifiers with a commendable 2-0 record.
It’s worth noting that on February 22, Gilas Pilipinas, under the leadership of coach Tim Cone, also secured a decisive victory against Hong Kong with a score of 94-64.
Looking ahead, Gilas Pilipinas will continue their journey in the Asia Cup qualifiers in November. However, in July, they will face the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Riga, Latvia.
