MANILA, Philippines — Television personality and former host Kris Aquino shared a heartfelt birthday wish ahead of turning 55 this Valentine’s Day: to live long enough to celebrate her 60th birthday and qualify for both senior citizen and person with disability (PWD) cards.
In a recent Instagram post, Aquino expressed deep gratitude for reaching another year despite her ongoing battle with multiple autoimmune diseases. The “Queen of All Media” revealed that while she currently holds a PWD card, some establishments still do not consider it a valid government-issued ID — a challenge she faces since she does not drive and only carries a passport as formal identification.
Aquino also provided an update on her recovery following a six-week hospital confinement and a minor surgical procedure. She shared that although she is not yet allowed to walk outdoors until four weeks after her stitches are removed, she is now able to walk unaided and rarely needs her wheelchair.
The actress and former TV host hinted at more details regarding her condition, saying she will soon explain why her loved ones are extra cautious about preventing accidental falls, which she described as potentially life-threatening given her fragile health.
Despite her health struggles, Aquino remains hopeful and productive. She revealed plans to co-produce her upcoming on-camera podcast and shared that she is looking forward to rebuilding her immunity, as she is currently severely immunocompromised.
Aquino also clarified that while her son Bimby is undergoing training for his budding career, she prefers to focus on being his mother rather than managing his showbiz path. Career decisions, she said, are entrusted to someone she deeply trusts.
Ending her message on a warm note, Aquino invited her followers to leave questions in the comments, promising to answer as many as she can.
As she marks another milestone, Aquino’s message reflects resilience, gratitude, and hope — a simple birthday wish rooted in faith and survival.
