‘UNESCO world heritage church’ in Iloilo locked down because priest with COVID celebrated mass

ILOILO CITY – Sto. Tomas de Villanueva Parish or better known as Miagao Church in Iloilo.

In an exclusive interview with Fr. Angelo Colada, director of Social Communications of the Archdiocese of Jaro, said it was not yet certain how long the lockdown would take.

According to Colada, the first symptoms of COVID (Coronavirus Disease) were diagnosed by a priest who held a mass before it was confirmed that he tested positive for the deadly disease.

Contact tracing was immediately conducted with those who came in contact with the said priest.

The said church is called the UNESCO world heritage church.
