The 118 -year -old who is considered the oldest man alive was chosen to bring the Olympic torch to Japan this coming May.

Kane Tanaka who has twice been cured of cancer will carry the Olympic torch when it passes through his place where he was born in the prefecture of Fukuoka.

His family will push him while in a wheelchair and it will walk a bit while passing the torch to the next runner.

His relatives gave him new shoes to be used in the torch relay.
