MANILA – The number of new coronavirus cases recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) has returned to more than 9,000. That is why the total of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has jumped to 828,366.
Today the agency reported 9,216 newly hit by the pandemic disease.
“5 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) on April 7, 2021.”
According to the DOH, the positivity rate or number of those who tested positive was 20.8% from the 39,969 who tested COVID-19 yesterday.
The total number of active or undiagnosed cases is still high at 167,279.
Of them, 97.6% were mild cases, 1.2% were asymptomatic, 0.5% were severe and critical, and 0.29% were moderate cases.
Meanwhile, the total recoveries increased by 598 to 646,968.
While 60 were newly recorded dead for 14,119 total deaths.
“14 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 6 are recoveries. ”
“Moreover, 28 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.”
