vivafilipinas0304202410The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council is currently urging residents in Northern Luzon to be cautious.

This follows the raised tsunami warning by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology due to a magnitude 7.5 earthquake that struck Taiwan earlier this morning.

In connection with this, the said department immediately advised residents in the region, particularly in the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, and Isabela, to remain alert at all times.

Concurrently, the department also advised all residents living near the sea to stay away from the Pacific Ocean and the Philippine Sea, and to evacuate to higher ground if necessary.

Meanwhile, monitoring by relevant authorities for further developments and situations regarding the said incident is ongoing.
