Apostolic nuncio among those attending the 126th CBCP Plenary Assembly to be held in Aklan

vivafilipinas05172023-44KALIBO, Aklan—The Diocese of Kalibo confirmed that the leaders of the Philippine Catholic Church including the papal nuncio will go to the province of Aklan for the plenary assembly on the rare occasion that it will be held outside of Metro Manila.

According to Fr. Tudd Belandres, parish priest of St. John the Baptist Cathedral that the plenary assembly of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) will be held at the Marzon Hotel on Jaime Cardinal Sin Avenue in the town of Kalibo, Aklan from July 8-10, 2023.

He added that the 126th plenary is the second part of the activity after their annual retreat from July 4-6, 2023.

The CBCP plenary assembly is the twice-a-year meeting attended by the Philippines’ 88 active bishops, 37 retired or resigned prelates and two diocesan priest administrators.

The said the assembly will focus on pastoral matters, including the agenda on moral, doctrinal and social issues.

In this regard, Bishop Jose Corazon Talaoc, D.D called for prayers for the said bishops were, the Diocese of Kalibo is fully prepared for the success of the big activity.
