P4.6-M marijuana seized by PNP in Tarlac; 3 suspects arrested

tarlac1PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) personnel confiscated about P4.6 million worth of suspected marijuana from three drug suspects in an anti-illegal drug operation in Tarlac City, early Sunday morning.

PNP Chief Gen. Debold Sinas, the three arrested drug personalities Cornelio Chumil-ang, 33; Jomar Pallar, 24-years old and Marcelino Caraowa, 40-years, are all residents of Mountain Province.

Confiscated from the position of the suspects were 24 pieces of marijuana bricks, 26 rolled dried marijuana leaves worth P4.6 million and 2 bottles of suspected cannabis oil worth P30,000.

Sinas said that apart from Tarlac, illegal drug suspects are also smuggling in Pangasinan and Mountain Province.

“Upon further investigation, the suspectswere found out to be members of the same group arrested in Tarlac last February. The said group operates illegal drug activities in the area of ​​Tarlac, Pangasinan and Mountain Province, ”said Gen. Sinas.

Brought to Camp Gen. Francisco S. Macabulos in Tarlac City the suspects, who will face charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“I commend the personnel in PRO3 under the leadership of BGen. Val De Leon for their accomplishment and for continuously conducting pro-active operations to wipe out all drug peddlers and have less opportunity to propagate illegal drugs in Central Luzon, ”Sinas said.
